Dr. Lindsey Pelych grew up in a Fairfax, VA. While she has always had a passion for animals, her path towards veterinary medicine was a bit round about.  She entered Shenandoah University with the intention to pursue music, but graduated with her bachelors of science degree in Biology and a minor in chemistry and ready to start veterinary school.  Dr. Pelych received her doctor of veterinary medicine in 2013 from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Following graduation, from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Pelych completed a one-year rotating internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois. Following her rotating internship, Dr. Pelych has spent her time pursuing training in ophthalmology (diseases of the eye) all over the east coast. She has worked with Eye Care for Animals in Norwalk, CT, Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island in West Islip, NY and last but not least she spent one year with Animal Eye Guys here in South Florida.  She has published several research articles and enjoys teaching and giving seminars. When not pursing ophthalmology, Dr. Pelych has worked as a senior emergency clinician at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in Detroit, Michigan and other emergency facilities.  While, Dr. Pelych loves treating eye problems, she is also passionate about surgery, veterinary dentistry, multimodal pain management and geriatric medicine.

During her free time, Dr. Pelych is an avid curler (the sport with the yelling and the sweeping and the brooms on ice!) and travels the country competing in curling competitions (bonspiels). In her free time she loves to read, exercise (cycling, running and swimming), travel and learn more about veterinary medicine. Dr. Pelych considers herself a crazy cat lady and is the mother of three cats (Rio, Ziggy Stardust and Melody), but don’t worry because she is crazy about dogs too! Dr. Pelych can’t wait to meet your four-legged family members and help keep them happy and healthy.
