Walk for Life, Gift of Life 2013

Matching people, pets, and bone marrow!

With Valentine’s Day in 2 weeks, most people think of their perfect match as their soul mate, the one with whom they wish to spend the rest of their lives. A different example of a perfect match is the joy that people experience in their pet, their furry soul mate and loyal companion. For some people, and possibly for some pets, the perfect match means a perfect bone marrow donor. Gift of Life, Bone Marrow Foundation, is an organization that matches desperate bone marrow recipients with potential bone marrow donors. Sunday February 10th is their annual Boca Raton “Walk for Life”, and Boca Veterinary Clinic will be walking in support of this wonderful cause.

You may ask why a veterinary clinic is supporting a human health cause. The answer is simple: because we truly care about the creatures at BOTH ends of the leash or cat carrier. Great pets deserve great pet parents, and great pet parents deserve to be healthy too.

It’s that sense of caring that drives us to heavily discount our wellness blood profiles, our dental programs, our surgery programs, and many of our other services. We are presently in Pet Dental Quarter, and are heavily discounting our general anesthetic dentals in order to convert nasty smelling pet mouths into gleaming oral health. In addition, we are discounting our imaging services to help determine if a pet is healthy enough to undergo the planned procedure safely.

On February 10th, we “Walk for Life” to support our community. In order to do our unique job well, it’s important that we not only care what we do, and how we do it, but also why we do it. Boca Veterinary Clinic supports Gift of Life because we care about our community, at BOTH ends of the leash or cat carrier.
