Dr. Kimberly O’Neal grew up in the Chicago suburbs, where veterinary medicine was practically a family tradition. As the daughter of a veterinarian, she spent much of her childhood lending a hand in her parents’ small animal practice—an experience that sparked her lifelong love of caring for pets and their people.

A natural leader and team player, Dr. O’Neal was a scholarship athlete at the Florida Institute of Technology, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering while playing collegiate volleyball. She also served as team captain, balancing academics, athletics, and leadership with impressive drive and determination. After graduation, she entered the medical engineering world as a software test engineer, quickly standing out for her skills and earning the Star Performer Award. Still, something was missing—she missed working hands-on with animals and knew her heart belonged back in veterinary medicine.

Blending her analytical mindset with her passion for animal care, Dr. O’Neal earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine along with a Certificate in Veterinary Business Management from the University of Illinois. She has a special interest in dentistry andpreventative medicine and believes that proactive care is the key to helping pets live longer, healthier lives. She is also a Fear-Free Certified veterinarian and is dedicated to making every visit as calm, comfortable, and positive as possible.

When she’s not at the clinic, Dr. O’Neal enjoys gardening, traveling, scuba diving, and soaking up time with her family and their beloved dog, Fisher—who keeps life fun both at home and beyond.
